Spam Filters
What precisely is an e-mail spam filter? How does it operate? How can you enable spam filtering?
An email filter is a piece of software that is installed on a mail server and ‘scans’ all inbound emails in order to impede any unwelcome ones from reaching a given mailbox. A few instances of such email messages would be: offers for pills or cash, fraudulent bank statements or email attachments that contain malware sent with the intention of infecting your personal computer. Spam filters typically check the content of an email and when they detect specific keywords or other suspicious content, they either delete the email message or deliver it to the Junk/Spam folder instead of the Inbox folder. Some web hosting companies combine their own filters with up-to-date databases from spam-tracking organizations, so as to ensure better security for their clients. Such databases include patterns, email server IPs and other info about spam emails recently revealed by these organizations.

Spam Filters in Shared Website Hosting
The protection of any mailbox that you create under a shared website hosting account with our company is guaranteed by the powerful SpamAssassin filter that we use. You can activate it via the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and it offers 5 safety levels based on the spam score it gives to every email in accordance with various parameters, such as the frequency of certain words and phrases, the sender, and so on. If you keep getting spam emails, you can always raise the level or if you are scared that you may skip a legitimate email, you can combine the automated filter with a custom one and forward all email messages from a specific sender to another mailbox. If you decide that you no longer require a spam filter for a particular mailbox, you can deactivate it with just a few clicks.
- Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you reach the decision to use the mail service that is offered with our Linux semi-dedicated servers, you can keep all unasked-for emails away from your mailbox by activating the five-level spam protection service that we provide with each plan. This can be accomplished via the fully featured Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel and we rely on the powerful SpamAssassin filter to make sure that we offer the very best possible protection for our customers. You can have a different anti-spam level for each mailbox and you can choose if the filtered email messages should be erased or redirected to another email address where you can review them at a later point in time to make certain that you will not miss genuine emails. Switching to another level of protection or disabling the protection is also easy and requires a few clicks of the mouse. - Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
