FTP Accounts
Understand more about what FTP really is, what it does and what is the main benefit of using multiple FTP Accounts.
File Transfer Protocol, or FTP, is one of the most popular methods of uploading and downloading website files between a computer and a web server. Using an FTP program like FileZilla, you can make a connection to your hosting account and drag & drop files or entire folders in either direction and the software itself will take care of all the rest. There are several pluses of using File Transfer Protocol, including the ability to restart an upload/download in case there’s some problem with the FTP connection and the option to set up different FTP accounts. Thanks to the latter option, you can set up FTP users that can access only specific folders in your hosting account, but no other folders, e-mail accounts or other info, which makes it the best option particularly in case you need to grant a web designer access, for instance. You can also use an FTP account with famous website building tools like Dreamweaver or FrontPage and upload the sites that you have created directly from them, without having to resort to any third-party software.

FTP Accounts in Shared Website Hosting
You will be able to set up as many FTP accounts as you like with any of the shared website hosting plans that we are offering, since we have chosen not to restrict this functionality. In this way, you can manage multiple Internet sites all at once or give other persons access to different folders. As soon as a particular task has been carried out and you wouldn’t like that individual to be able to access your website files anymore, you can change the password for the FTP account in question or you can just remove that account with several clicks and stop worrying about anyone accessing it once again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all shared accounts, will allow you to see the complete list of the active FTP accounts displayed alphabetically. It takes only a click to administer various options for any of them – to update the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.
- FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our Linux semi-dedicated servers are rather powerful, which makes them perfect for hosting a lot of sites. Speaking of which, we have decided not to set a limit on the number of FTP accounts that you can create, so you can have a separate account for each site that you host on our platform. All FTP accounts will be displayed in alphabetical order in the respective section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is included with each semi-dedicated server account. For each of them, you will be able to view the access path and to edit it, if needed. Also, you can set up a new account in an FTP client of your desire by downloading an auto-config file and installing it on your home PC, which will save you time. In case you’ve never had a web hosting account previously, you can check out our comprehensive instructional videos, which can be accessed through the same section of the Control Panel.- FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
In case you open a VPS web hosting plans with us and pick any of the 3 hosting Control Panels that we are offering – cPanel, Hepsia or DirectAdmin, an FTP server will be installed on your virtual machine, since it’s an integral part of the software suite that comes with all Virtual Private Servers ordered with a hosting Control Panel. This will enable you to set up as many FTP accounts as you like and to select the folder that each of them can connect to. If you want, you can even create separate accounts for the exact same domain and give different people their very own set of sign-in credentials to connect to the website content. Any of the 3 hosting Control Panels will give you the ability to set up, to edit or to remove an FTP account in a couple of simple steps and with less than a couple of clicks of the mouse, so even in case you don’t possess prior experience, you’ll be able to administer an FTP account in a seamless way. - FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
