TXT Records
Understand what TXT records are and what they are used for inside the DNS system.
TXT is a DNS record, that contains data in human-readable form for external sources to obtain info about a specific domain or subdomain. In the most common case, this kind of record is used to prove that you own a domain name in case you're trying to add it to a search engine or to some website traffic analytics platform. Since only the domain address owner/administrator can add custom DNS records, the TXT record serves as a verification of ownership for the corporation offering the service. Another popular use for this type of records is the email SPF (Sender Policy Framework) protection, that ensures that an e-mail address shall not be spoofed and that people will not receive junk mail from allegedly your mailbox. The TXT record includes details about the mail server where your online messages originate from and functions as validation that it is a trusted one. As there are no standards concerning the content of this type of a record, you can add any other information as well.

TXT Records in Shared Website Hosting
If you have a shared website hosting account and you need to set up a TXT record for any reason for a domain name or a subdomain hosted in it, you will be able to do it with only a few clicks inside your Hepsia CP. The new record will be working shortly after that, so a search engine, for instance, can pick it up to confirm that you're the owner of a given Internet site in just minutes. You can set up the TXT record using the DNS Records section of your CP where you shall also find all the other records for your domain addresses. All you will have to do will be to choose the Internet domain or subdomain and the record type via drop-down menus, enter the text content and save the change. If you are not sure how to proceed, you can even check our step-by-step guide, which you can find in the Help section of your account, or you could also get in touch with our technical support to assist you with the creation of the new record.
- TXT Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
A few mouse clicks through drop-down menus is all it takes to set up a new TXT record for any domain address or subdomain that is hosted within a semi-dedicated server account from us, so in case you need this kind of a record for any purpose, you will not experience any issues even when you have no previous experience with such matters. Any domain address that you've hosted or subdomain that you've set up your account shall be listed inside the DNS Records section of your Hepsia Control Panel, so you can select the one you need, opt for TXT from a list of record types and input the text that you would like to be associated with this record. Within only one hour the record is going to propagate, to enable you to use it for whatever purpose you require it. We have an in depth Help article and a competent tech support team which is available 24/7 to help you with the creation of a new record or any questions you may have regarding it. - TXT Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
